PPE's DARE Officer Goewert in action, empowering our 5th graders through the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program. He is teaching students about making safe, responsible choices and building a brighter, drug-free future. Our 5th graders will be graduating from the DARE Program next week! Last week our Drama Club performed Charlie & The Chocolate Factory & The Wizard of Oz on the Fort Zumwalt West High stage. The performances were cute and funny and the students did an outstanding job playing their character.
Some of the Fort Zumwalt West League of Leaders (that represent the 7 habits) came out to play with some of our students at recess. This was in between recesses with our DARE Officer, Mr. Goewert.
Come out to see our 2nd graders perform in their musical, "Too Much Noise" on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30pm at Fort Zumwalt West High School.
As Spring rolls in, along with it comes standardized testing for our third through fifth graders. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be participating in MAP (Missouri Assessment Program). We have finalized the testing window and wanted to share these important dates with you. Our testing window will be April 29-May 9 with makeups for absent students during the week of May 12-16 . Please be cognizant of absences during these times, as they may affect your child's performance on these tests. Also, your child will need headphones for the test. Please check with your child to make sure that their headphones are working properly and/or that they have been using them for technology. A restful night's sleep and a great breakfast will help students do their best on this assessment. Please see the letter for specific dates, tips, and tricks to ensuring success on the MAP! Our students have been well prepared, and we can't wait to see them shine!
PPE hosted a Leadership Day on our last early release day. Current and future Kindergarten families attended and got to see our students shining in their leadership roles. Kindergarten classes performed the 7 Habit song, older students met with their younger buddies, families got to tour classes & hear more about the 7 Habits and the leadership binders, 4th & 5th graders led tours and our student Lighthouse team held a Q&A. From our student greeters & welcome team to our student annoucers we are so proud of all our students at PPE!

There is NO SCHOOL on Election Day, Tuesday, Apr. 8. Staff will be in professional development. School will resume on Wednesday, Apr. 9 as an E day.
